Journey to Malaysia (Part1)

Hello, I want to share to all of you about my internship to Malaysia. This is part ONE of my journey. In this first part i want to tell you about how i ended in Malaysia. So let the story begin :D

How i ended in Malaysia? Well it was my friend Budi tell me that i should go to Malaysia and apply for intern to Lemon Sky. I knew about Lemon Sky about a year ago, when i saw their facebook page and knowing people i be friend with got intern there. There's nothing about Animation they were working on got displayed. Only the promotional project. I was curious you know, knowing it's an international project it must be good. So i asked him a lot of questions about Malaysia, how the work, the life, the expenses, etc. You may ask me for infos too, just add my line czacaesar and i will tell you everything. I will give another tips too, maybe in the next post. Knowing the potential of the work or for your career is good, i decided to build my portfolio to apply.

I was among the first batch who applied. I have to wait about a month to get the interview with miss Syazmeen from Lemon Sky, and i was back in my hometown Bali when they ask me for interview. So i had a Skype interview and she told me i got accepted and have to fill some forms to get working Visa in Malaysia. When i knew all of my friends who will join me to Malaysia, we made contact to prepare about the tickets and all other things. Then we decided to fly to Malaysia on 29th September 2014. Unfortunately, they can't get our condo prepared by the day. So we have to stay at Ryan, Jaka, and Teh's condo (the Lemon Sky regular) for awhile. This is my first time to go overseas, of course i got excited and all :D I'll provided the photos and will continue the story in the next post!

Digital Painting 2014

I'm not a professional Digital Painter, and i'm not good enough but i still love to draw in my spare time. Here's latest of them, not much but enjoy!

Last Semester in Binus University Animation, we have to made a movie. Movie that combine CGI and Real Life shoot with green screen and stuffs. Me and my team (we are 5 - a guy and 4 girls) made this movie with a lot of hard works.

Pretty fun, we have to work on it for whole semester and facing a lot of problems and else. Maybe i would give you behind - the scene later :p

The name is Exe.Cube

It's a story about an ordinary guy, facing an extraordinary event he would never imagine before. His whole life turn upside down, and everything he ever cares gone. You can see the movie below, please enjoy!

For quite some time, i've visiting some part of Malaysia. Nothing special, 'cause we don't have a lot of money and time to spend to visit all tourism objects in Malaysia lol. But here's some stuffs i've gathered so far in Malaysia:

Lemon Sky Screening Night

We got invited to Screening Night of Lemon Sky Animation Studio, where we watch 2 episodes of serial that we currently working on, and we got chances to take a picture with workmates :p  we suit up, dress nice and having a lot of fun :D

Animex 2014 Malaysia

This is The first Animex outside UK!! :D

I'll never know about Animex in Malaysia if i didn't come to Yong K's desk that morning. I saw him browsing about Animex that'll be held in Malaysia on the end of September. I came to Animex with Baskara, Ossy, Stephanie, and my workmate in Lemon Sky.

The one that i expect to see is no other than The Legendary Ed Hooks :D
Luckily i bring his book to Malaysia with me, then i got the chance to met him in person, shake hand and take some photos :') oh yeah i got my book signed. HELL YAY

Animex 2014 is held in KDU University Damansara Malaysia and luckily it's near my place

(Some) Advice for My Junior

Here's some advice for my junior in Binus University that wants to get an internship at Lemon Sky Malaysia :

1. Speak English is a must, but if it's just so - so it's okay
2. Speak Mandarin and Cantonese is a plus, you can speak with most of people in Lemon Sky
3. Bahasa Melayu is also good to learn, you'll learn it eventually and i enjoy it so far lol
4. Try all the foods before deciding to limit your budget (make your own)
5. Plan your money carefully, you don't want to spend it too much in the beginning
6. There'll be a deposit for your condo, 500 RM for each person, so plan your budget
7. And there might be an International event such as Moto GP, Animex, or WWE in Malaysia
8. Take initiative  if no one seems like want to do it
9. Learn the workflow and do the shots/projects on time
10. Animation project using Maya, Games (Modelling&Texturing) using Maya/Max
11. Take a specialize in your showreel, if you want to do animation just show animation or else
12. You can ask me for more advises :p
